UZUÑA POLOBAYA DAM

06:30am – The meeting point will be in the Church of St. Avgustin. Our first point of visit will be the town of Quequeña, its landscape is admired by its famous pre-Hispanic terraces formed by farming terraces and livestock, the yokes and fighting bulls are very traditional of this place. Here we will find petroglyphs. Then we will visit the traditional town of Quequeña where you can appreciate its Plaza and church.

7:30 am We can do an optional hike in this place consists of climbing towards the Mirador del Cerro Soncomarca, from the top of this viewpoint, where the statue of the White Christ is located, we can appreciate the andenería that is hidden between its mountains. Later we go towards the village of Sogay, in the middle of a rustic landscape, we are greeted by its picturesque square surrounded by palm trees and from there, the village is upwards; with ashlar houses, arranged in stands, with cobbled alleys and paths of muleteers.

8:30am We will go to the village of Polobaya, Old town, is located at the top of the Sanctuary of Chapí. Here the population is engaged in agriculture and livestock.

9:30am Visit to Paylojen Falls, just 5 minutes away in mobility from Polobaya Chico, responsibly; here the river bed is covered with highly demanded black slab stone for wall veneers. In this place we will enjoy our snack and a dip.

11:00 am we will continue our trip to the dam of Uzuña where we will have our lunch and they can enter in boat to walk for the one. It was a dam that was built for the purpose of storing water, this water serves for times of drought. But today it is a pond where trout are bred and there are adventure sports.
