Itinerary

DAY 01CUSCO - ABRA MÁLAGA - ALFAMAYUC - SANTA MARÍA (CYCLING)

At 7:00 am pick up from the hotel to start the tour of the Inca Jungle trail, our transport will be a mini van or a Stares according to the number of passengers, our first stop will be in Ollantaytambo, where those who did not take breakfast or forgot to buy something can do it, after 30 minutes we will continue our journey, crossing the snow of Abra Málaga with an altitude of 4,350 meters above sea level, and we descend to Alfamayuc, place where we will make a stop to place ourselves and begin our descent in the mountain bikes, for approximately 2 hours until arriving to Huamanmarca, where we will board again to the car, Continuing our tour to the village of Santa Maria, located at 1,430 m.s.n.m. here we expect a comforting lunch, in the optional afternoon you can perform river rafting activity, dinner and our first night in a local family hostel in this small town. This day is a lot of fun and adrenaline, because we go through different climates, with cold, rain and sun.

DAY 02SANTA MARÍA – QELLOMAYO – SANTA TERESA

The second day is the most intense as we will cross part of the original Inca trail that connects the Inca city of Machu Picchu with other Inca villages such as Vilcabamba “the last refuge of the Incas”. We have to walk from Santa Maria to Santa Teresa, We leave at 8 am and arrive at our destination at 17:30 pm, we will have many stops on the Inca trail, in total the trekking is about 8 hours.

Walking through the jungle, climbing mountains, crossing rivers, our guide will be giving us information about the whole circuit, as well as the typical plants of the region.

We will cross through mango trees, avocados, papayas, coffee plantations and coca leaf, sacred leaf of the inkas and which is legally cultivated with authorization of the Peruvian government. The best thing about this day will be that for 1 hour and a half we walk along an original Inka path. The Inca roads are built with stones and cross the mountains.

The views are incredible and this road passes by the highest point that is accessed during the walk. After about 7 hours of trekking we arrived at the hot springs of Santa Teresa, “Qolcalmayo”. A real paradise, the environment is truly spectacular and the pools with water at about 30º and which we will enjoy.

Then we continue our journey to the town of Santa Teresa, located 20 minutes from the place. Immediately the lodging and ready to enjoy a dinner.

DAY 3SANTA TERESA - HIDROELECTRICA - MACHU PICCHU PUEBLO

We wake up around 7:00 a.m., to enjoy a comforting breakfast, the tour starts at 8:00 am, our transport will take us to the base of the zipline activity, since this day we have the option to perform it, considered an extreme adventure for being located within the jungle.

At the end of this wonderful adventure, we will continue the journey to Hidroeléctrica where we will have a lunch to continue with our walk to hot waters, town of Machupicchu, the walk has a duration of approximately 3hrs, along the banks of the river as well as following the railroad track of the train, in this walk we will appreciate flora and fauna of the area, and arriving to Aguas calientes, where we will spend the night, we will be able to see the mountain of Machu Picchu , which we will visit the next day.

In the evening we will have our dinner in a tourist restaurant of the village and to rest for tomorrow to wake up with all the energy to finally see enjoy Machupicchu.

DAY 4MACHU PICCHU

After breakfast, we have two options, get on the bus for 25min or walk up through the last stretch of the Inca trail to reach the Inca city of Machu Picchu, we arrive at approximately 7:00 am, during this time we will be able to appreciate the beautiful sunrise in Machu Picchu, besides being one of the first groups, we will take care that your visit in Machu Picchu is unforgettable, visiting the most important sectors of this city Inka and recharging energy.

We will have a guided tour of 2 hours, it is a visit to the most important areas, after that you can explore the mysterious city of Machu Picchu at your own pace and discretion. At this time you can visit the bridge of the Inka, the gate of the Sun, all depending on the energies you have.

For many travellers, among whom we include, the visit to the “city of Machu Picchu” is the most important moment, a magical place, the most spectacular archaeological site on the continent, with an impressive location and a mysterious past.

In the afternoon we will board the return train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo for a period of approximately 2 hours, arriving at the station will be waiting for our transport to take us to the city of Cusco, our hotel, for a period of time of 2 hours approximately.

The trek itself was incredibly challenging and beautiful. The scenery was breathtaking, with lush green forests, snow-capped mountains and cascading waterfalls.
