LARES TREK

We leave Cusco early and head towards the sacred valley, visiting in the morning the thermal baths of Lares, after lunch we will have to walk 2 hours to reach the place where we will camp.

We will continue going up the valley until we reach the community of Wacawasi, in this place people produce fine fabrics, we will also be able to observe their great skills and brilliant techniques in the manufacture of ponchos and other clothing. Passing the villa we will begin to ascend until the Abra of Condorpasa (4100 m.s.n.m. aprox.), from this place we will have an amazing view of the snow Veronica (5750m.s.n.m aprox.), we will arrive to the beautiful lagoon of Epsaicocha, place where will be our last camp.

Very early after breakfast we start the walk towards the pass (4100 m.a.s.l.), where we will appreciate a spectacular view of the landscape, then we will pass by a long rock formation, and almost at the end, beautiful lagoons that conjugate the landscape and original Inca trail that connects the valley of Lares with the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Then, gradually descend to the peasant communities of Patacancha and Willoq, then a transport will take us to the town of Ollantaytambo where we will take the train to Machu Picchu, where we will stay overnight.

After breakfast we take the tourist bus that goes to the citadel of Machu Picchu. This short bus ride takes just 20 minutes and runs along an unpaved, steep, zigzagging track through a mountain with jungle features and breathtaking views. Finally we arrive at the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, where our local guide will take us through the most important sectors of this beautiful Inca citadel. Later you will have free time to explore the city on your own.

Around 13:00hrs, we will be taking the return bus that will take us to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes), we will have lunch and in the afternoon we will return by train to Ollantaytambo, for approximately 2 hours, where we will be waiting for the transport to Cusco the hotel, for a period of 2 hours.
