The Casa Museo María Reiche is located at km 421.3 of the Pan-American Highway South, town of San José, district of El Ingenio, province of Nazca. It is located at a distance of 21.3 km. from the city of Palpa, 27.5 km from the city of Nasca and 121.3 km from the city of Ica.
The House Museum has information on studies of the lines and figures of Nasca, made by Dr. María Reiche Newman as well as maps, plans, photos, archaeological material and a didactic model of her designs. In this place he lived and carried out his main studies.
The Maria Reiche Museum has existed since 1994, on the edge of the desert where he lived for a long time in a hut in very poor conditions. In a garden next door is the tomb of the researcher who died in 1998 at the age of 95.
The remains of Dr. Maria Reiche and her sister Renata rest in peace in this place.
