We will start the tour by picking you up at your accommodation and transfer to the main port, where we will board a motorboat to move to the Uros Floating Islands. After 25 minutes, we will land on these islands built by their own inhabitants with totora, which grows in the same lake Titicaca. After listening to some explanations from the guide and the island’s own inhabitants regarding their way of life, we will have time to sail on a raft of totora through the lake and take some pictures. Afterwards, we will board our motorboat again and return to the city of Puno.
*If you arrive a few hours before the start of the tour to the Terminal Terrestre de Puno, we can pick you up at the arrival time of your bus and take you to the local agency so you can wait more comfortably and warmly until the start of the tour.
Uros – Puno (Google Map)
The Uros Islands in Peru are a must-see attraction. The islands are man-made, constructed with reeds and totora grass, and are home to the Uros people who are descended from a pre-Inca civilization. I was so amazed to see how the people created such a sustainable lifestyle, living off the land and water, and using the reeds to build their homes. The experience of visiting the islands was a unique and memorable one.
